So we built a little YouTube channel...
Not long after Pause had its official public unveiling in June of last year, we decided to celebrate in the spirit of pure irreverence. “Menopause can get crazy, and women going through it could use a good laugh,” we said in our group planning sessions. “Why not salute the launch at a comedy club?”
And not just any ol’ comedy club, mind you. We held our Pause for Laughs kickoff at Caroline’s on Broadway in New York City, a legend in the industry. It's owned by Caroline Hirsch, a personal friend of Pause founder Rochelle Weitzner and an all-around badass.
Here's a cute event pic of Caroline (left, in polka dots) and Rochelle (in black) flanked by comedians Michelle Balan and Rolonda Watts:
And for a fun, full recap of that evening, go here.
These past few weeks, with all that’s been going on in the world, we found ourselves pining for a repeat of what the zinger comedians Balan, Watts, Tammy Pescatelli and Taffy Jaffee (Best. Name. Ever.) shared with us that evening.
For your viewing pleasure, we’ve uploaded multiple clips of the fabulous comedians who performed that evening.
In total, there are 10 clips, each under 30 seconds. So when you’re feeling like you need a little time-out, treat yourself. There’s nothing like knowing other women feel your menopause pain to lift your spirits.
And when you’re staring down yet another loooong evening at home, Pause founder Rochelle Weitzner recommends spending couch time with two (fictional) badass women leading the charge in classic funny films: Miranda Priestley in “The Devil Wears Prada” and Elle Woods in “Legally Blonde.” While they couldn’t be more different, each woman owns her power unapologetically. And that’s what Pause is all about.
